A Life Remembered: Sr. Grace Ngu, SST

It is with great sadness that we learned that Sister Grace Ngu, the Superior of the Sisters of St. Therese (SST) passed away on Saturday, the 11th of April, 2020. Sister Grace and the SST have been partnering with MFH for over six years to address challenges facing mothers and children in Cameroon. Together, our projects saved many lives by providing critically-needed health services at Mount Mary Hospital Buea, the Sabongari Health Centre, and the Fiango-Kumba Health Centre. Sr. Grace also led our project to provide support for internally displaced people (IDPs) who were forced to abandon their homes due to the civil conflict in Cameroon since 2017. This was one of the very first projects for IDPs in Cameroon. She was a champion of Medicines for Humanity work in Cameroon, an ardent colleague, and a very close friend. We will miss her very much.

In her memory and in appreciation for all she represented, we offer this reflection:

Walk tall, walk well, walk safe, walk free

And may harm never come to thee.

Walk wise, walk good, walk proud, walk true

And may the sun always smile on you.

Walk prayer, walk hope, walk faith, walk light

And may peace always guide you right.

Walk joy, walk brave, walk love, walk strong

And may life always give you song.

(Traditional African Blessing)
