Medicines for Humanity Annual Appeal
Dear Friends of MFH,
One of our partners in Zambia recently said something that has stayed with me: “When you have help, you resolve to do more.”
This is the spirit that drives Medicines for Humanity and our partners around the world. Every time we receive support from compassionate people like you, our partners are able to do more. They can treat a child’s fever before it turns deadly, help a mother safely deliver her baby, and train Community Health Workers with the skills they need to better care for their neighbors. Thanks to your generosity, more than 1.9 million health services like these were provided last year alone. It’s your kindness that makes it all possible.
This year, we are once again aiming to raise $20,000 to support our mission.
Your gift, no matter the size, fuels our mission to save the lives of vulnerable children and mothers, and helps our partners do even more.
From all of us at Medicines for Humanity, and from our partners across the globe, thank you for believing in this mission and for standing with us.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
Kristen Lilley, Executive Director

Your Generosity In Action
Critical Programs Restore Children’s Health
Four-year-old Kabamba Kunda arrived at Santa Maria Mission Hospital in Zambia too weak to stand. His tiny body was swollen and frail from severe malnutrition. His mother feared she would lose him.
Thanks to the nutrition program run by our partners, Kabamba received life-saving therapeutic foods and consistent care. Day by day, he grew stronger. His swelling subsided, his appetite returned, and soon he was walking again.
After 3 months in the program, Kabamba is healthy, active, and full of life. His mother says, “I had lost all hope…but after receiving treatment from the facility my child is able to walk, very active and fully recovered”
The generosity of our donors makes life-saving nutrition programs possible. Programs that give children like Kabamba a second chance at life.
Together, we can reach even more children in need.
Moms Learning to Fight Malnutrition
In Mamfe, Cameroon, mothers face a heartbreaking question every day: How do I feed my children enough nutritious food when there’s so little to work with?
Despite tense security conditions and frequent power outages, dozens of mothers and pregnant women recently gathered for a Medicines for Humanity cooking demonstration.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, these mothers learned how to turn simple, local ingredients like roasted soya beans, red corn, and crayfish, into affordable, nourishing meals.
This training gives them the tools to protect their children’s health and share life-changing knowledge with their communities. We believe no child should die from malnutrition. Your support empowers mothers in Mamfe and beyond to make this belief a reality.
Small Pharmacies, Big Impact
In the small community of Hoyo del Toro, a pharmacy is more than a place to get medicine, it’s where families turn when sudden illness strikes.
Maria Celeste Castro, a Community Health Worker (CHW) and soon-to-be mother, runs a small pharmacy, or “botiquín,” from her home. When a child has a fever in the middle of the night, or a mother needs medicine she can’t find anywhere else, Maria is the one they call. She learned much about this role from her mother, Wendy, who served this same community for years. Trained by MFH, these women have cared for their neighbors through sickness and uncertainty.
In the rural bateyes of the Dominican Republic, access to care is scarce. Medicines for Humanity’s Small Pharmacy Program is changing that. Each CHW-run botiquín provides affordable, essential medicines to more than 150 families. For many, it’s the only place to go for help.
These small pharmacies don’t just save lives, they strengthen entire communities. With MFH training and support, women like Maria gain the tools, confidence, and income to care for their families and neighbors.
Your generosity makes this possible. Every donation helps train, equip, and support Community Health Workers like Maria so they can continue caring for their neighbors and keeping their communities healthy.
