January 2014, Rockland, MA - Sister Joyce Weller, D.C. has been named as a member of the Board of Directors of Medicines for Humanity (MFH), the non-profit organization that seeks to provide life-saving healthcare services to the world’s most vulnerable children.

MFH Founder and Executive Director Tim Bilodeau stated, “We have always admired Sister Joyce’s unwavering commitment to provide vital services to those most in need. Her compassion and leadership will be a great asset in our mission, and we are honored that she has chosen to serve on the Board of Medicines for Humanity.”

Sister Joyce is the Executive Director of the Daughters of Charity Foundation, which supports Daughters of Charity Ministries throughout the Province of the West, and she has served in this role since 2001. Her international health experience includes twenty years on the Board of Seton Institute, the global outreach arm of the Daughters of Charity Health System (now Ascension Health). For most of her tenure at Seton, Sister Joyce was Chairman of the Board. She led efforts to build the capacity of Sisters in the area of primary healthcare in twenty-four of the poorest countries of the world, and to expand Seton's outreach to Africa. She also encouraged Seton to collaborate with MFH on several projects, including emergency healthcare response to Haiti in the wake of the devastating earthquake in 2010.

Sister Joyce spent her early years in various teaching and administrative roles in Daughter of Charity schools in Arizona and Washington and later served for twelve years in leadership for the Daughters of Charity Province of the West.
