Laurie Hurley Joins MFH Staff

We are pleased to announce that Laurie Hurley has joined Medicines for Humanity (MFH) as Development Manager, effective immediately. Laurie most recently was a grants coordinator with the Taunton Public Schools in Massachusetts, a position she held for the past 14 years. There, she developed proposal submissions for local, state, and federal grant programs, and managed $11 million annually in grant funds. Previously, she worked in development at Tufts Medical Center, Northeastern University, and Upham’s Corner Health Center. Laurie holds a Master of Public Health degree from Tufts, and has a lifelong passion for MFH’s mission to save the lives of vulnerable children and their mothers.

Laurie is very enthusiastic about her new position at MFH, “I’ve spent the last 18 years writing grants with a focus on improving the lives of economically disadvantaged children. I have addressed needs that include nutrition, maternal and child health, HIV prevention education, mental health, adolescent health, social and emotional learning initiatives, and drop-out prevention programs. Joining MFH allows me to work again in the public health field to improve the lives of children.”

Laurie can be reached at MFH headquarters at 781-982-0274 or by email at Lhurley@medicinesfrorhumanity.org
