Timothy W. Bilodeau, Founder of Medicines for Humanity Announces His Retirement. Cordelia “Kirk” Ryan to become new Board Chair.
Twenty-five years ago, Tim Bilodeau decided that he would do everything he could to stop the needless deaths of innocent children. He founded Medicines for Humanity (MFH), and today the non-profit organization works with in-country health partners to provide critically-needed health services to vulnerable children and their mothers around the world.
Tim is quick to point out that he didn’t do this alone. Those of us who now support the mission of MFH know how much his vision, caring, and example fired our imaginations and drew us to the cause.
Tim has decided that it is time to pass the torch to the next generation, and he is retiring from his position as Board Chair. In recognition of Tim’s accomplishments, the MFH Board has honored him with the title of Chair Emeritus. His longtime MFH colleague, friend, and MFH Board Member, Cordelia “Kirk” Ryan, will become Board Chair, beginning in March.
Tim Bilodeau offered the following: “After leading Medicines for Humanity more than two decades, I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life. Retirement will allow me to spend more time with family while continuing to assist MFH on selected projects. I have every confidence that our new Board Chair, Kirk Ryan, will guide the organization to even greater heights with the strong support of our CEO, Margaret Brawley and the rest of the MFH family.
Kirk has an amazing story to tell. She has risen through the MFH ranks from Associate Development Director to becoming a Board Member and now tackling the position of Board Chair. She has a track record of success in each of her past roles and is destined to be a catalyst for taking MFH to a new level of service growth.”
Kirk Ryan added her appreciation: “Tim has served Medicines for Humanity with an enduring passion and a tenacious determination to save lives. We are grateful that he will continue to participate as Chair Emeritus. and I am honored to follow him as MFH Board Chair.”
Tim continued: “I am proud that MFH, working with and through our local healthcare partners, has improved maternal and child health for so many mothers and children around the world. We are most grateful to our donors, colleagues and supporters. You deserve the credit alongside our talented staff, generous board, and dedicated project partners for enabling us to accomplish this life-saving mission.”
