MFH Program Director Kenneth Muko Addresses the First International Community Health Workers Symposium
Kenneth Muko, Medicine for Humanity (MFH) Program Director presented an abstract on MFH Community Health Worker projects and their effectiveness for lowering mortality rates among children under 5 and pregnant women at MFH project sites around the world. The 430 people who attended the symposium held in Kampala, Uganda represented 136 organizations from 23 countries. Attendees included researchers, policy makers, funders, implementers, civil society, students, and other stakeholders from national and international organizations. The Community Health Workers Symposium which was held February 21 through February 23, 2017, was organized by Makerere University School of Public Health in partnership with Nottingham Trent University (UK) and the Ministry of Health (Uganda).
