MFH Advocates to Legislators About Crisis in Cameroon

The situation in Cameroon continues to deteriorate. Elections were held on October 7th and the current president, Paul Biya, has been declared the winner. The opposition has rejected the results and violence is escalating in the North West and South West regions. More and more desperate families are fleeing their homes to hide in forests. Please read The July Humans Right Watch Report on Cameroon, โ€œThese Killings Can Be Stopped.โ€

MFH has increased our support for the regions, but given these circumstances, we feel compelled to do more. Please read this urgent letter advocating U.S. intervention that we sent to U.S. Representative Ron Kind of Wisconsin (a member of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission), Representative Karen Bass (a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee studying the crisis) and representatives from Massachusetts. We are deeply concerned for the safety and well-being of the thousands of mothers and children caught in the middle of this political upheaval.
