Medicines For Humanity Names Elisa V. Avila Z. “Coordinator Of The Year, Latin America And The Caribbean.”
December 2013 - Medicines for Humanity (MFH) Program Manager Amelia Brandt has announced that Elisa V. Avila Z. has been recognized for her tireless efforts on behalf of the children of the Dominican Republic. Elisa is the Country Coordinator for all MFH projects in the Dominican Republic, a job she has held since 2008. She was presented with a certificate of recognition that states, “Your passion, patience, dedication, wisdom, and positive attitude have contributed directly to the success of our Dominican projects. It is a privilege to work with you. You have helped save the lives of children in the Dominican Republic. For all of this, we are ever grateful.” Elisa oversees MFH projects in Consuelo, Quisqueya, Barahona, and Las Matas de Farfan, and has been instrumental in developing and coordinating the “La Loma” Community Health Worker training program, as well as supervising the corps of MFH Community Health Workers in the Dominican Republic. The award was presented to Elisa at the recent meeting of the MFH Board of Directors.
