I have been inspired by Tim Bilodeau since my first day at Medicines for Humanity (MFH) ten years ago. His passion and sense of urgency to save as many children’s lives as possible was, and still is, contagious. I am thankful that I could learn about the need while working alongside him and the other dedicated staff at MFH for four years. Together, we followed Tim’s lead and helped save the lives of thousands of children.
Along the way, I started a family of my own and the mission of MFH never rang truer to me. I decided to take a step back from work to raise my young family. I received an invitation from Tim to join the Board. I was not “done with MFH yet…” There were more lives to be saved and I still wanted to help. I knew that the Board was made up of committed and driven people, and joining with them to lead MFH is exciting and inspiring. I was thrilled to have this opportunity and without reservation I said, “Yes!”
When we recently learned that Tim would be stepping down, we all understood that it was time for us to draw even closer together as we continue his legacy. Tim called and asked me to step up and again I was honored. I knew it was the right time for me to assume greater responsibility and act. My young boys are thriving and this is my time to help other women with young children.
Today, when I look to the future and all we hope to achieve, the challenge and opportunity I see are undeniable - - the challenge of knowing that there are thousands of children who die each day and the opportunity to save as many of their lives as possible.
Thank you for your continuing support as we, in the words of my inspirational friend, Tim, “continue to fight the good fight.”
